    you laught but things like the freedom of information act and congressional resolutions prove that this is literally how westerners – americans in particular – make decisions. lol

      I’m actually not laughing I do wish to choose to believe that human civilization can survive a carrington esque event

      iirc the lying machine said something about recent satellite launches maybe a couple years ago? to help set up an early warning system in case there’s a solar flare that’s Gonna Do That and iirc it said something like it would give government organizations and power operators at least a few minutes to turn off and disconnect critical equipment, plus other stuff

      based on the state of the Texas power grid it’s 100% cope but sometimes a little self delusion is necessary to stave off existential dread so I didn’t interrogate those claims
