Blizzard have fired a World Of Warcraft developer after dev-only insta-kill spells were used to take out bosses for regular players during a dungeon run.
One of wow’s endgame activities is mythic+ dungeons. Infinitely scaling difficulty with a score system. Gotta kill X% of enemies + bosses in a dungeon within a timer. There’s a set of achievements for hitting certain scores (sum across all dungeons) and 2 more for being in the top 1% and 0.1%
This dev abuse was particularly egregious in this case because it was in the 0.1% range.
Also, small correction: they didn’t kill the boss. The group missed an enemy in an early part of the dungeon and didn’t realize until the end so the enemy count meter wasn’t full.
