Common misconception. It’s not a PC. Many of the components are close to standard, but their implementation isn’t. Lots of proprietary shenanigans going on. It also lacks a typical BIOS, which alone makes it not an x86 PC.
I know, but it is based on standard PC components of the time, which made it ripe for mods, including installing Linux… Several friends of mine had the OG Xbox, and all were modded. One of my buddies still has his, I’m trying to convince him to resurrect it 😂
Honestly, yeah it is. OG Xbox emulator has gotten a lot better, but 360 still has the frame drop issues and a LOT of texture fixing problems. So you can spin the camera in just about any game and the textures are flying at you
Worse than OG Xbox emulation? Last time I checked, it was rough to say the least, with absurd hardware requirements.
