    Going to link this when someone asks me why it takes 30 minutes to write a commit message.

      mine all end up “did the thing”, “minor changes in x”, “added y”, “bug fixes”, “stuff”, “more stuff” etc. no one is reading the commit message anyway. all the details end up in the merge request and the commits get squashed at the end.

        You’re missing out on one of the greatest joys in work. Writing the commit message is the reward for doing all the work.
