indeed it is. its one of my favorite games of all time. if it looks different than you remember here its because this screenshot is from an emulator. i would guess the gba slightly blurred the pixels, and at least on the original gba it had no backlight so was probably much less bright depending on where you were playing.

The colours, brightness and crispness of the sprites are far more vibrant than I remember. (Though it’s been a hot minute since I’ve played it)

Yeah. That’s likely why. Loved that game. I recognized the main character and their stupid padawan pony-tail, which is what left me confused.
