So, I’ve been fucking with it.

In terms of overall functionality, it’s solid.

It isn’t a musicbee killer, at least not at this point. The deep ability to manage one’s library isn’t there (there’s a raft of options in musicbee), and that’s one of the things that I value highly.

That being said, it’s at least as good as anything else that’s Linux native that I’ve found. The ui in particular, I prefer to the usual suspects.

Fwiw, IDGAF if a developer uses Claude to reduce their workload. I only care if the end result is shit. So far, this isn’t. Everything works, it’s not conflicting with anything, and I’m not even finding little bugs or glitches. To me, that means claude was used the way it should be; a hel per rather than the developer. Again, idgaf, and any absolutism on the matter isn’t going to do anything useful.

In terms of what it needs next, it’s the expanded library control; file conversion, batch renaming, that sort of thing where you can pull in what you rip or download and standardize it to the rest of your library in one place, while listening to and working with the music itself. Players are a dime a dozen at this point.

I can see “Claude” as one of the contributors on the GitHub repo which means the software is developed with the help of Claude AI.
