You can turn this off by changing the channel visibility for shared links in the Privacy settings:

Never share YouTube links with their source identifier.

Here’s some Youtube frontends:
- FreeTube: https://freetubeapp.io/
- Grayjay: https://grayjay.app/ / https://grayjay.app/desktop
- NewPipe: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe
- LibreTube: https://github.com/libre-tube/LibreTube

I’m confused, how does the recipient access the sharer’s username from this?
Google is revealing the username with a popup that says
"Sent by [display username]
@[username at registration]"
I see that in the screenshot, but I don’t see how to actually expose that once you have the URL. For instance, I can grab a YT link from just about any Discord server I’m in right now, and almost all of them have trackers at the end. But when I click them, I don’t see anything that reveals the sharer’s details, it just looks like a normal YT page. I’m not sure where you actually get to the screen in that screenshot.
Its part of the youtu.be’s page <title>
