    I guess a lack of class consciousness?

    They make me a bit queezy TBH, and some of the books I’ve read put the protagonists in roles where they have loadsa money … and it just works out that it’s lazy writing so they can just make-stuff-happen easily

    On top of the obvious it would have to introduce a lot of flexibility in scripts. They can just hand-wave some otherwise absurd things if they have effectively unlimited resources at their disposal.
