Lmao, I love Lemmy. Such a good question, albeit silly.

The answer is no. There is no legal way for the oppressed to revolt, from contemporary times to antiquity. The ruling class does not budge unless two things occurs: 1) revolutionary violence that they can’t stop, 2) the ruling class realizes another mode of production is superior.

The latter has never happened without the former forcing their hands. No slaveowners wanted to give up their free production on the back of slaves, but after feudalism came into fashion off the back of even more organized violence than slave societies could muster, the ruling class realized that a society can produce more if the workers were properly incentivized to want to work, instead of being beat and killed if they don’t.

To go from capitalism to socialism is similar. Capitalists will fight tooth and nail to continue their oppression, and only respond to violence. But just like slaveowners, capitalists don’t realize they’re leaving a lot on the table, societally and ethically, by continuing to propagate liberalism and quash communist revolutions.

Strictly speaking, not really. But every revolution starts small. Live youre most authentic life in a way that inspires others to live theirs. The fascists want conformists. So just dont conformand you are revolting.
