I have a “suspected diagnosis” (German: Verdachtsdiagnose) of ASD by a psychiatrist, and they forwarded me to a clinic that can perform the full diagnosis. I’ve filled out a form and been put on the waitlist, but they couldn’t give an estimate. Another clinic in my region also does autism diagnoses for adults, but their website says they have waiting times of 2–3 years 😵💫
Well, it’s been 2 years now, I already paid once out of my own pocket (I wanted ados and they gave me standard test, had no idea about adult autists) and it failed.
So yeah. Nowhere there’s even a waiting list and knowledge about atypical adult autists is sparse so chances are slim I’ll ever get one. The rest of the ‘professionals’ are seemingly stuck at Autist knowledge from 30 years ago.
I am very angry about the whole situation that after decades of being denied accommodation through kissing knowledge I am now even being denied a diagnosis.
