Even if you can’t do it you just do it anyway. Make something genuinely terrible. It’s good for you.

I’ve got shame for years. But sometimes I draw something nice. I’ve actually seen some of my stuff reposted as memes, and that feels like the opposite of shame, whatever that is.

Anyway you don’t do it for the art or whatever. You do it because it’s good for you.

It might be conceptually sad to some people, but programming something that I don’t need works for me

Creative isn’t just traditional art and drawing, there’s no way you’ve tried everything creative and everything makes you feel shame after. Poetry, writing, painting miniatures, origami, flower decorating, 3d modeling, programing, crocheting, macrame, pixel art, bead art, stained glass, mozaic, and so much more. I know “don’t worry about the end result” doesn’t lessen the feeling of shame, but instead focus on something super simple and approachable for a beginner to accomplish in whatever creative endeavor you engage in. Start small, build from there.

Just make some marks using whatever tools you have. They don’t even have to be visually appealing marks
