    I mean they were from Ohio but all of the actual meaningful flight stuff happened in NC. Further supports the hypothesis but not in the implied sense.

      They built and designed the wright flyer at their shop in Dayton, they just decided to test it in NC. It’s kinda like saying NASA was from Houston but all the space stuff actually happened in Florida

        The 1903 Flyer was such a shitty airplane that it needed negative density altitude to fly. They flew at Kill Devil Hills, inches above sea level, on a cold December day. They tried to replicate the flight in 2003 on the 100th anniversary, it was warmer, and the plane failed to fly.
