This is the main part of the quote from former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak. The host of this video had already been making this claim well before, however this may be the first time in recent public statements that an Israeli politician has publicly admitted the fact. The first half of the video is excellent, after that they kind of lose focus and start talking in generalised statements (not that they’re necessarily wrong, they just stop talking about specific events).
Basically 10 minutes of talking heads discussing the clip in the first video, which was already discussed for 6 minutes there. They spend the first 4 minutes leading up to actually playing the 2 minute clip, then the last 4 minutes jerking themselves off and mocking his slow speech in his 2nd language, with a dash of Trump impressionisms.
The first video is more worth watching than the 2nd, imo, but both devolve into some form of rhetoric, rather than criticising specific examples.

They have shown that there are rooms down there but not anything that shows concrete that it waa used as such.

Same here. I’m very sceptical of the Israelis in general… They are killing indiscriminately without any consequences.

My World Bias is pretty simple: Killing innocent people (under false pretense), killing medical personell is an atrocity, occupying land that isnt your own is bad (russo ukranian war, israel palestina war), torturing people is evil, and war crimes are bad. Hamas is evil, and so is Israel/IDF.
It’s not that they’re sharing reports on Israel/Gaza, it’s that their account is solely dedicated to that activity. That suggests a level of organisation behind the account, as well as a bias, which is worthwhile consideration when trying to understand things objectively. They’re not just some user that’s posting stuff on their personal account; it isn’t really grassroots, but possible astroturfing.
Also their account was created fairly recently, and around the time Hexbear was widely rejected by many instances in the federation. Lemmy.ml subsequently became a safe haven for many alts.
That isn’t to say you should disregard what they’re posting, it’s just something to bear in mind.
But then you may want to look at the accusers account. Fairly recent (5 days) accusing OP for spamming with spammy comments. All the accuser had to do was pointing out in their own words what’s wrong with sharing those reports.
Lmfao good shout. Definitely some bias on their part also, albeit I do believe they have some sort of legal background.
Their account doesn’t feel so focused on an agenda, though; while there’s definitely a bias and lack of impartiality, it feels like that’s being applied to content they encounter, rather than trying to dictate a message for others to swallow.
Not that I really read too much into it beyond a few randomly picked comments, but they have no posts.

I did before Israel started cracking down on dissenters. Many of the journalists I’ve paid attention to haven’t been posting much lately. Even then, Haaretz has been under fire and threat from the Israeli goverment. Luckily, there are still vocal Jewish and Israeli voices outside Israel, but they’re less news and more perspectives and opinions which aren’t fit to be main posts in this community. But if I do find a perspective interesting, like how Norman Finklestein relates the attitudes of Palestinians now to the Jews persecuted back in the Holocaust, then I’ll find a way to leave it in the comments. :D
Israel also cracked down on Al Jazeera, and many Israelis are now afraid of speaking out against the government and their bloodthirsty supporters.
Yeah Israel strictly controls coverage of their war on Gaza and subjects all footage to military review. It’s fucked.
