I watched this show last summer. He was so brilliantly stupid. He lost five IQ points every episode. They must have had a blast writing him.
I do not doubt it. Every episode of that show is so fucking good. Perfection.
What show is it?
The Good Place
I just found him too unbelievable, and the writing around him a bit sloppy.
Like, that’s the joke: He’s stupid? Not even in context to some baseline intelligence he might have (e.g. like Homer Simpson), just overall ongoing stupidity without any real consequences. Just a one liner and then the scene moves on
I think the joke he was substance and florida-induced stupid.
Which I also thought was a needless dunk on Florida. To paint an entire state, or at least Jacksonville as a place full of similar idiots is just a bit regressive.
It would be like having an Irish character on TV and all he does is drink and blow things up.
Ill never be conviced otherwise that he was written to be so dumb so that one scene would feel so much funnier
“Jason figured it out? … this is a new low”
At least he died doing what he loved - a bunch of whippits.
I was under the assumption a Jedi (or a Mandalarian) would eventually kill him.
In The Acolyte they have this exchange: Osha: “You speak as if you were a Jedi.” Qimir: “I was. A long time ago.” Osha: “I’ve never heard of you.” Qimir: “It was a really long time ago.”
So Jacinto’s cortosis-using dark sider could be an early minor apprentice of Plagueis, one of their experiments, or a Sith acolyte Plagueis is scouting. That way he could be long-lived enough to appear in the New Republic Era since The Acolyte was canceled.
So since we know Palpatine’s consciousness is alive in a strand-cast on Exegol (since Mando & Grogu precede episode 9), for my money Qimir could make for a good new Vader.
This is the strangest possible response to this post. Are you talking about the Good Place?
Manny Jacinto (co)stars in both, I’m having a little fun.
Edit: Were you thinking of skateboards?
I see. Well done, sir.
