Blizzard released Diablo II: Resurrected - Infernal Edition on Steam, a newly upgraded version of the classic action RPG and it's Steam Deck Verified too.
It comes with a free always online requirement! Also included is the opportunity of a lifetime to open an exclusive Battlenet account to use the mandatory 3rd party launcher!
Don’t forget the new QoL additions we’ve locked behind a new class DLC!
I don’t actually think you need to use the third party launcher if you buy through Steam. At the very least, D4 doesn’t require it.
Still will need a Battlenet account, but if you’re buying D2 I imagine you’d have one, even if it was 25 years old. Is there anyone who’d seriously check out this game who has never heard of Diablo before?
You can play offline, though. You can argue that $25 (the cost of the expansion) or $36 (cost of the remaster + fresh dlc equivalent to a small expansion) is too expensive, but its not just $36 for a 25 year old game. And you can just open a bnet account with a burner email if its that problematic for you. Afaik the launcher is unnecessary. Youre completely and utterly overboard here.
Hey! Buy our 25 year old game for £36!

Corporate needs you to find the difference between ARPG fans and meth addicts.
There is no difference. And i play all the arpgs :(
Haha yeah. At least for online ARPGs. No such problem with Grim Dawn, Chronicon, Wolcen etc

If that’s the case I’d bet it’s because the 3rd party launcher is embedded which is what Ubisoft did with Assassin’s Creed.

Blizzard sucks, but your comment is just dumb.
Oh no, won’t someone think of the billion dollar company and their cultists! lmao
