Technically the propaganda and lobbyism from the oil and gas industry worked so well that the Department of Energy under the pretense of national security and a policy to lobby encourage the government to secure energy for the future. After all which country wouldn’t want to secure their future. Guess what was the #1 source of energy at the time? If someone says lobbyism didn’t work its about to be responsible for a lot of recent US wars.
