    That’s a mischaracterization of what he meant. “Corporate” for the Italian fascists is not the same as “corporations” in the modern Americanized way.

    The “corpus” was the body, and corporate means uniting the guilds, or parts of the “corpus”/body, into the state, which is the “head”. So it’s basically a metaphor for the nation as a body, which in Latin is corpus.

    It’s basically syndicalism, but if the state controlled all unions and not the other way around.
