After seeing a megathread praising Mao Zedong, an actual mass killer, and a post about a guy saying “99% of westerners are 100000000000% sure they know what happened in ‘Tiny Man Square’ […] the reasons for this are complex and involve propaganda […],” I am genuinely curious what leads people to this belief system. Even if propaganda is involved when it comes to Tiananmen Square, it doesn’t change the atrocities that were/are committed everywhere else in China.
I am all for letting people believe what they want but I am lost on why one would deliberately praise any authoritarian system this hard.
Can someone please help me understand why this is such a large and prominent community? How have these ideals garnered such a following outside of China?

Oh look another person to justify the slow slaughter of innocents under the imperialist’s hand. If their rhetoric and truth was so good why couldn’t they convince their fellow countrymen without the murder. The truth is they were just another group grabbing power.
To think if they had laid down their arms China could have become fascist far quicker and that would have saved millions of lives. To see the end result of a fascist China in the hands of the supposed antifascists is a little hard to bear.
I am thankful I don’t buy into their false rhetoric and that I don’t have to justify the huge amount of human death and suffering they caused. Only to continue their imperialistic march hand in hand with the US their fascist partner. How this does not make Tankies sick to their stomach and how they can’t see through the lies is beyond me.

You seem to be confused about China being a fascist nation. Let me clear it up for you. They made more billionaires this year than the US.
I find it amusing that you hand wave away all the killing the CCP did and then accuse me of not caring. Brother it is clear only one of us actually cares about human life, the other can excuse the death as long as it is their team.
If you are trying to pretend China isn’t imperialist you have to be purposely ignorant of what they have done. I don’t think engaging with someone who denies reality is generally helpful.
