This technology could one day enable high-definition visual-haptic touch screens for automobiles, mobile computing or intelligent architectural walls.

    They don’t even mention applications for the blind. A tactile display would be game changing.

      That was my first thought, as well. The second was that it might finally make displays in cars usable without looking.
