A major instance with thousands of users who are only blocking 1 other instance? And that instance is some weeb instance?
That sounds actually really cool.
Maybe lemmy really does have a shot at over taking reddit this year.
I know Ruud from Mastodon. He seems cool and legit.
I don’t care about overtaking reddit, all I want is for the fascistic and discriminatory lemmy.ml to be dwarfed into irrelevance. Or become more notorious, so the number of instances that block them is steadily rising like now.
After seeing one of the reddit refugees describe Lemmy.ml as an communist server that most instances just block, I knew there was hope again.
I think that new user was in Lemmy.world. 😁
I’m not a huge fan of instance blocking especially when community blocking is usually enough but it’s good people can identify extremism coming from the left too.
I love to see reddit fall apart because their mod/admin system is a broken mess and I hate having to go there but that is where most forums tend to get set up because it’s free and people already have user accounts there.

Me neither, but some times people are quite unreasonable and one should have no realistic hope for coexistance. I know of several lemmy instances that got choked to death by lemmy.ml/lemmygrad and it only reinforced their grip on the lemmyverse. When one half of the lead lemmy devs hardcoded a block against using the Jerboa app with a certain instance, I understood there’s no dialogue. No compromise.
Not only no coexistence but active eradication of any dissenting voice with every means reasonably available. I consider it evil.
The lemmyverse is currently in a social “revolution” due to demographic change. This should be the new normal. What happens if lemmy.ml is able to wrestle their way back as the default instance and end up in the same position again?
Irrelevance for them is better for all of us. If some or all instances block them, I don’t think I could care less at this point. I would have before a certain lead dev showed how hateful they are and willing to use what they present as a gift to humanity and society as a tool of control.
I hate having to go there but
reddit is worse than Morbius.
It’s weird, they’re run by mastodon.world but actually seem to be embracing diversity, for now
I’m finding way too many lefties and lgbt types on lemmy for my taste. news@beehaw is full of left leaning articles. I’m looking at local on exploding-heads and it seems to be chilled out a bit but i’m not sure what to think yet. Maybe the people I am looking for aren’t on the fediverse yet.
beehaw is ran by the gays. So if you don’t like lgbt propaganda that probably isn’t a good instance for you. The main admin is literally named Gaywallet. I personally would not want that dude moderating my comments. He’s probably way to sensitive and cries at the slightest critique.
lemmy.world’s users seem miles better than lemmy.ml’s users to me to be honest. I just like rounded debate from most view points.
I had no idea about any of that, i followed their news community as there wasn’t anywhere else posting news articles. I posted some scripture and it looks like I’m banned there lol.
Search for wolfballs on lemmy.ml . We were users of that site but the admin (who is the other commenter of this post) shut it down then we moved here. Around 1.5 years ago lemmy.ml restricted wolfballs for “racism, homophobia, etc.”. I think you can understand what our beliefs are by this verry short story.
(Wolfballs had nothing to do with furrys)
And they are bringing a diversity of opinions to Exploding Heads which is a big plus.
Agree, Pretty much every lemmy instance has been a echo chamber until now. Which is really bad for society in general. Hope they can keep it up/open.
It’s interesting to see the scene grow.
Don’t be turned off by us being wild… When it comes down to it, we will sit and dialog.
