Not much to mention this week.

In Final Fantasy XIV I am reaching main quests level 50, which I believe are the highest level quests in the base game, so shouldn’t be too much left in my free trial.

Played some more of Tiny Lands, reached world 8 so only about 25 or so levels remaining.

Played some Judgment too. It’s nice to play a brawler after playing MMO combat or cozy games.

Reached Chapter 7, some pretty interesting story stuff going on. Getting a bit tired of the side stories, most of those end up following someone or chasing someone. Both get kinda boring after a while. The stories themselves are weird and interesting, but not a big fan of gameplay for most of these.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

It took me months (I’ve had a lot of other stuff on), but I finally beat FF7 Rebirth the other day! Really enjoyed it - the combat system is great and I loved exploring the backstories for each character. Some parts felt quite filler-y, but were generally still fun to play/watch.

I’ve just started Tunic. The way in which various aspects of the game are revealed through the instruction manual is so clever. Can’t wait to finish work and play some more!

Taking months to finish a game is pretty normal for me. Most RPGs very easily take 3 months or more, and that is even without other stuff 😀

It doesn’t help that I’m a bit of a completionist (at least to the point of doing the majority of the side quests, and ignoring the ones I felt were tedious)

I have realised I will never be able to play all the games I want, so have stopped worrying about achieving 100% completeness or getting Platinum or even completing the main game. I have dropped 10+ games this year, would never have done that just 4-5 years ago.

That’s a good way to do things. I guess I have a mentality of ‘I paid for this, so I want to make the most of it’, though that doesn’t necessarily mean 100%ing a game, just playing it until I’m satisfied. In that respect calling myself a completionist isn’t quite accurate - I’ll just play through all of the significant content and avoid any filler. The recent Spiderman games are some of the few that I’ve actually 100%'d, because I found all the content to be fun and not a waste of time.

It’s rare that I’ve dropped a game, as I tend to be quite particular about the games I pick up; but I totally agree that if you’re not enjoying a game it’s better to just drop it and move on to something else. Digimon Cyber Sleuth for example - I got about 10 hours in and lost interest. Not sure if I’ll go back!

Yeah, everyone is different, as long as you are having fun, it’s good. I platinumed all 3 Spider-man games, they are pretty good. Also did the Platinum for Ghost of Tsushima, but that was only because a friend of mine also started playing around the same time so we would talk about it a bit, otherwise with the open-world design, I was about to skip all the side activities around half-way through the game.
