Them: “Did you know there are operations higher than exponentiation?”
Me: *looks at two entirely filled notebooks beneath my desk containing my attempts to find fractional operations and compute fully continuous tetrations quickly* …no
I did this to one of my buddies when he bought himself a Honda Ruckus last year. I have a heavily modified first-gen Metropolitan, which is mechanically identical. 😅
“I just heard about this pirate manga “one piece”, might start reading it.”
“So, did that Terry Pratchett guy just write this one book, or?”
“Lately, I’m not so sure about capitalism. Wonder if there’s anything good I could read about that?”
Somehow, i’ve got to make time for Pratchett.
I tried reading Men at Arms aloud to my tweens recently. I found it difficult to adapt the narrative and frequent scene changes to spoken word. Unfortunately that didn’t endear my kids to the series. I’d like to try again with a different Discworld novel.
Actually now that I’m thinking about it I had an easier time reading the Tiffany Aching books aloud some years ago.
Did you do the troll voice?
