Within the nightly builds of the Firefox web browser is finally the ability to support playback of Matroska “MKV” content.
What’s this format better at compared to mp4/h264? I know mkv is used for movies, but why?
mp4 and mkv are containers, h264 is a video codec. mkv supports a lot more video/audio codecs than mp4 and they also have extensive subtitle support which makes it perfect for movies.
