Back off of Korea! Leave Korea to Koreans! Systemic oppression and assault of Koreans, Korean women especially, from the US imperialist forces on the peninsula has been going on for decades.

No. There is only one Korea, just 2 halves with different governments. Secondly, the DPRK is doing better than they have been in a long time, and the ROK’s strict stratification is due to its genuine revolutionary potential. As the US Empire wanes, the ROK won’t be able to brutally repress its working class as effectively. The “low birthrates” thing isn’t going to cause the ROK to go extinct, it’s a sign of the heightened contradictions in its colonized status.

The DPRK did not collapse even during the Arduous March, the fact that they are consistently doing better means they aren’t in a death spiral. There are more overweight people than just Kim Jong-Un, and he isn’t an absolute leader, just head of state.

As for learning about the DPRK, they have state media and tourists from other countries like Russia and China help fill in the gaps. It is extremely hard to verify information, but it isn’t non-existent either, which means you can’t just make shit up like claiming it’s in a death spiral or that Kim Jong-Un is some absolute ruler and not just a head of state.

As a side-note, private press isn’t necessarily more correct or honest than public press. It just happens to reflect the views of the wealthy capitalists that own the press.

No? More than anything I talk about Marxism and Marxism-Leninism in general, or China, as it’s more commonly discussed. When it comes to Korea I’m generally more reserved outside of my desire for the US Empire to leave the peninsula, leaving Koreans to chart their own course, and without the crimes against the Korean people the US millitary regularly commits (as in the subject of this post). The DPRK in general isn’t an area I’ve done much study on, it’s one I’d like to learn more about, but from what I do know it’s incredibly easy to spot nonsense claims like the idea that it will collapse any time soon.

If the US were to leave that place, i guarantee you that koreans would instantly reach an agreement.
