I’m actually a huge fan of stopping mid conversation, like when there’s a lull, and trying to piece together the convoluted paths we took from our topic of origin to the one we are talking about now. It makes for a very fun bonding experience because you have to work with your conversation partner as you’ll only really remember your own diversions a lot of times.

I find it helpful to understand how conversation flows work, but it’s also just a good tool for grounding yourself and recognizing that conversation is an evolution no matter who it’s with.

Also other people seem to also find it fun to track back through the conversation to reflect on the twists and turns it took and why.

With my friends, we just talk parallel and listen at the same time, mixing reactions into our respective streams of consciousness.
