It’s what happens when overqualified people are given a project nobody believes in so nobody is invested enough to meddle, and the end product is far better than anyone expected or thought to take credit for.
The first one is a kinda middling kids movie that’s saved by a few inspired performances. The second one is a p bonkers kids movie that really understood the assignment. The third one kinda veers too far off the rails, and in retrospect I think they lifted a lot of the plot from the Ready Player One book.
