If you look at FOSS it doesn’t just mean it’s free. Any WordPress plugin you get from the official repos with have a GPL licence, so you are free to look at and modify all the code and even repackage and sell your own version under the same terms. That’s the joy of the GPL
That’s true but many plugins are free but limit cause they sell a paid version
IIRC all plugins you can get via the offical plugin directory are GPL-3
But many include paid versions and limit what features you can use
Patiently waiting for this to fill up… I am trying to set up a blog these days, and I would love some good recommendations.
Orange host or 1984?
I am starting it as a hobby, so I am trying to minimize cost.
I have a VM I use to host personal projects, DigitalOcean has an example docker compose yaml I tweaked a bit, and connected it to the nginx reverse proxy on the VM.
I have a proton subscription, so I am planning to use that for emails.
But, orange and 1984 seem like legit choices, thanks for sharing.
1984 gives you a email server
Some of my favorite currently are: FluentSMTP - used for SMTP Matomo Analytics - for ethical analytics WooCommerce - for ecommerce SEO Framework - for seo SimpleTOC - table of contents for blog posts Monero Woocommerce Gateway - for accepting monero directly to my wallet
Is ethical analytical a term? I will lookup Matomo, thanks awesome stranger!!
