I’m done with Xiaomi. Good hardware but very intrusive software. Just to change the ringtone or the notification sound I have to accept being spied by them. Had to use a 3rd party software to change these. Wallpapers? Nah, accept the terms to be spied on as you use our theme software. I’m done, writing this on a Redmi Note 11 but already ordered a Moto G23 to replace it. Love the screen of the Note 11 but tired of the bullshit push to relinquish control of the device.

Will try the Pixel Experience ROM after I transfer everything to the new phone but I need banking apps working, not much hopeful.

Whem the Fairphone 5 comes out I will buy one. Decided it is time to invest on fair devices.

Only difference with a Pixel phone is they won’t ask your permission.

Yeah, but at least it’s just Google, not Google and Xiaomi (and who knows who else…).

LineageOS solved this issue for me.

It’s a little outdated model, but on late 2022 I got a brand new Redmi Note 9 Pro (2020) just so I could have a Xiaomi without MIUI cancer. I’m using it right now.

The problem is finding an offically supported model, otherwise you rely on people who post their custom LineageOS roms on forums.

Even worse is the Calculator app lmao. I was baffled when I had to sing some terms and Conditions to upload my data in order to use the calculator app.

Banking apps work on Pixel Experience along with Google pay. Writing this from my Mi 9T Pro with PE android 13 installed.

I’m typing this from an unrooted xiaomi phone with lineage for microg where I can use banking apps. The only downside is having to connect to a computer every time I install an update.

Writing this on a Redmi note 10 running pixel experience. Banking apps all work fine. I haven’t had any issues with stuff like that.

Same. On X3 Pro running CrDroid. The lroblem I face is that battery backup is not that good, the launcher’s recent menu is buggy sometimes, and gestures are not great as MIUi. (Like can’t swipe back on Gbaord to close it.)

Otherwise a lot better in every aspect than MIUi. No junk of apps and lot better privacy.

      It’s not even good hardware.

I’ve got a Mi 10t Lite, and the camera is useless. It randomly blurs patches of photos when it takes them, especially if you dare to use the zoom

I had experienced that on a Vivo phone. The worst device i’ve ever got it. The only advantage is a Snapdragon as a CPU.

I haven’t encountered an app that doesn’t work after using magisk to hide root acces.

Btw xiaomi.eu ROMs are also a good option next to lineageOS.
