13·2 months agoI tried running the games that I need Windork for some time ago, but got fed up tweaking the stuff. I’ll give it a try soon.
Btw, I only do PC gaming, no consoles or mobile.
Easiest way to dual boot is 2 disks, with Linux and grub installed on 2nd disk, and BIOS set to boot to 2nd disk. That way Winblows thinks it is alone in the 1st disk of the system.
Even so had an issue a couple years back that Winblows messed up its own loader, by not placing the boot files in the reserved hidden partition but then configuring the boot as if it did… facepalm Took me a morning of trial and error figuring how Winblows boot to fix it…
Winblows is a cancer, but unfortunately it still is necessary for some gaming.

16·8 months agoWindows guests also run fine on KVM, use the Virtio drivers from Fedora project.

There are several solutions but will be above the budget. Best solution is the Argon Eon case for the RPi 4. I’m waiting for a version for the RPi 5.
Can house the Pi and either 4x 2.5" drives or 2x 2.5" and 2x 3.5" drives, all SATA.

151·1 year agoI won’t spoof the agent. I want Google to know I’ll keep using Firefox no matter what. Except for YouTube, I don’t use any other service of theirs, too shitty.
The best way to make them back down is to show we won’t bow.
Try FreeTube viewer, still in alpha but already works great. You can create profiles with the channels you want in each one.
On mobile (Android) you have NewPipe, GrayJay or SkyTube.
PiHole blocks DNS resolutions, the crap sites won’t even open in the browser, etc. AdNauseam and uBlock Origin use the same engine and lists, so they overlap.

63·1 year agoActually this maybe should have been named Counter-Strike 3. 1 was the original based on HL1, 2 is the Source version, and this should be 3. CS:GO is a variant of Source version with different gaming modes. I wonder if a GO version of this new CS will appear.
I do miss the FireArms mod of CS1.
