A democratic state allows its citizens to pursue their private interests. This is only possible though if this is happening in a legal framework, so that the private interests of one citizen don‘t infringe upon the ones of another. The outcome of this consideration then is the abstraction (the specific applied to the universal) of the free will of the citizens. We call it freedom and justice. Others call it the free market.

I think you are on the right track with your ideals of the world, but I also guess you kinda know that this is not how states operate. Of course there are different types of states, but if you think of democracies, they are also not service providers to their citizens. On the contrary. Democratic states are the abstraction of all the private interests of their citizens. This is what they protect and advance. What arises out of that is that occasionally these interests will suggest a war is what the nation desires.

Dass Israel dort noch nicht einmarschiert ist, zeigt wie sehr auch die westliche Gemeinschaft das israelische Militär vom Schlimmsten abhalten will. Ich weiss nicht, was du liest, aber schau dir mal den Guardian gerade an. Hier gibt es eine Vielfalt an Stimmen zum Konflikt. Vertreter Israel‘s, Gründer des BSD, geben hier sehr konträre Ansichten. Aber auch in deutschen Medien wird doch nicht wenig auf das Leid der Palästinenser hingewiesen. Dass Leute, die Hamas und ihre verabscheuungswürdigen Taten zum Befreiungskampf stilisieren, zurechtgewiesen werden, gerade halt auch in unserem Land, sollte dich nicht so radikalisieren.

Yes, I have read the article. And this sentence is actually quite interesting. Especially this part: „Several Islamic groups have also condemned the program“. Why also? Admittedly it‘s a bit unclear in the article, but it seems some other people have protested this law, too. Where we get to the point of OP. Conservatism is bad. Whether it is religious or whatever the motivation. Blaming only one religion just serves other conservative narratives

Maybe it‘s a legalese explanation of a problematic aspect of the fediverse though. When a commercial entity comes in that deals in people‘s data, which doesn‘t just store data on its servers, but creates a product out of the data. And it seems like it can do that here without you ever agreeing or even knowing about it.
It‘s pretty disgusting how dumb they think the public is. On the other hand reading the responses of the public to this lie…they might be on to something.
