No, refusing to vote for Harris is not, in fact, a vote for Trump. That’s not how voting works and you are a literal baby if you think not voting for a specific candidate is inherently a vote for another.

A third party vote is the same as not voting. Not voting in a presidential election means you don’t care who wins. I’ll give you that. However, you seem to be someone who does care about the outcome of the election and is in support of minimizing conflict in the Middle East. If that’s the case, Trump has informed us that he intends to destroy the region by permitting Netanyahu to eliminate the Palestinians. So, by not voting, you are choosing to not let your voice be heard in the matter.

By not voting for the viable candidate that most aligns with your philosophies, you are increasing the risk of the other candidate’s victory.

They should be abolished and the land returned to Palestine, its rightful owners.

I’m not here to hold a college course on the fifty plus year history of the US supporting Israel and preventing global terrorism. I don’t have the time to pull up the library’s worth of data that existed prior to October 7th.

I ask that you pretend October 7th didn’t exist and then start researching what all presidents since Carter have done for Israel and especially Donald Trump. And why.

You can be opposed to Israel’s excessive use of force while still supporting the Biden administration’s actions. I’m not happy about all of Biden’s actions. I believe he should be standing more firm about his support but I’m not in the room during these negotiations. I don’t have access to classified CIA documents. What we do know is that Iran is an active threat to the United States and other countries and, without Israel as an ally, the world would be under grave threat of international war.

Please do yourself a favor and look into the 50+ year history of the US sending arms to Israel. You’ll find that it’s not possible for the US to completely pull out of supporting them with military aid.

That’s better than what Trump has done and will do. It sucks but it’s the best option for the people in the area.

That is a lie. The United States supports Israel because of its position in the region. To defend democracy and economies in the region, the US has to negotiate with the Israel terrorist state. Trump doesn’t give a shit about anyone in the region and has fully supported Netanyahu’s genocide. The current conflict is largely due to Trump’s actions as president and Biden’s inaction as president.

Trump openly told Netanyahu to eradicate the Palestinians. Trump has empowered Israel over and over again. if anyone gained anything during Trump’s presidency it was Israel.

It’s not terribly difficult to get on the ballot. But each state has their own requirement so the third party candidates you see may not be on every ballot nation wide.

It’s not just the media that promotes the two candidates. It’s the billionaires and corporations who invest the most money in promoting someone they find favorable to their interests. Given the bankroll surrounding these two parties, the media really don’t have much choice but to reflect their advertising efforts.

In the US, we have what’s called first past the post elections. That essentially means the first person the get the most votes wins. In this case, it’s electoral votes, not individual votes.

Had the US had something like ranked choice voting or star voting in general elections, third party candidates would be given much more attention.

Given the voting system we have, we mostly vote in a manner that prevents the election of the most popular candidate we don’t like.

Secretly, I’ll pass judgement on someone until I realize I know nothing about them and would be unhappy if someone judged me without knowing anything about me. Then I judge myself for being judgmental.

This is what the people who forgot about Donald Trump say. Trump’s presidency was far more rewarding for Israel than either Russia or North Korea; arguably, even more rewarding than the US. This conflict wouldn’t have existed without Trump’s aid in the first place. If you think Biden or Harris are friends with Netanyahu, you are sorely mistaken.

I’m voting for the person I trust to make a half a promising decision for calmness in the Middle East rather than the one who’s guaranteed to gladly trade the lives of Palestinians and Americans in exchange for authoritarianism. And if the person I choose to vote for (wins and) doesn’t live up to my expectations, if this person does not aid in Middle East tensions, I’ll still sleep well at night knowing how much more traumatic it would have been with the alternative.

I give a shit about this world. I will not be part of the downfall of democracy and the promise of more lives lost and freedoms around this world revoked for the sake of someone’s ego and business dealings. I will not throw out my vote.

I’m voting for Harris because I support a free Palestine. Because under Trump, Palestine is guaranteed to disappear.
