At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution there were an estimated 200 million people and virtually 100% poverty.

Now there are over 8.5 billion people and yet we’ve managed to reduce both poverty and hunger to the lowest levels in history. Along with the lowest rates of people dying due to war.

socialism didn’t do that.

Pretty much they’re giving money to people who are most likely to be transitionally homeless and then claiming success even though most if not all of the participants wouldn’t be homeless after a year anyway.

NFTs, like crypto in general, is nothing more than a ponzi scheme.

Only it’s worse because there is no one to go after when it collapses. As you can see with the NFT collapse… there is no “Madoff” you can identify to send to prison.

The other thing you can do is mount a “new media” folder writeable, and add new media there.

When you have everything the way you want it, then move the files to the folder that’s mounted read only.

Every instance gets to make that choice, it seems silly to me that an admin would cut off a server that may have friends and family members of the people who use their instance.

Of course, those folks can just move to another server, which is the great thing about the Fediverse.
