It’s not even Rosh Hashanah yet.
Yeah, I vote on almost everything, too. I bet you don’t downvote over 99.5% of the posts you see lol
Yes, there are a couple import tools for Google Takeout, and you should absolutely use one. I don’t recall if I used this particular tool, but it is strictly necessary to get a clean import.
Other examples:
Google Photos Takeout Helper - Readme includes detailed step by step instructions.
Takeout Helper Neo - a fork of the above with additional features
Photo Migrator - designed to work with multiple services
I actually thought that was the legit name for a second
This is a severe underreaction. OP should be locked up safely away from society.
Just waiting for that 2040s ironic nostalgia wave to drive up the price again lol
The dash at the end implying that there is also a secret fourth thing is just 🧑🍳🤌
That sounds expensive. Have you considered taking up smoking to save money? /s

Even the font got skinnier!

Does that include like building the hoover dam or what?
Well, he couldn’t have known that, but fascinating that he was inadvertently helping to solve disease. Just a few centuries ahead of being useful.

Back then it was “raid: shadow news”
My exact setup after trying a lot of different configurations.

Absolutely a great community! There are a lot of scripts, etc. that people offer (like this post). That’s one of the best things about HA. For someone who’s not very techy, none of that is easy, unfortunately. For me, I know that if I spend the time to learn how to do something, I know I will get plenty of support from the community - I just have to decide whether the improvement is worth the time it will take to learn and implement it. Also, whether it is worth messing up my current setup, since I will almost certainly make some mistakes along the way.

This is great!
One of my big disappointments with HA is the lack of well-developed user controls for this type of thing. I’m not a coder, so just a simple trigger like “turn on the driveway lights when I get home” was an achievement.
I would have to spend months learning and deploying any kind of smart features, even though HA has the hardware and controls to do all of it. I basically use it as a remote to control the thermostat, which is pretty lame. It does come in handy when we go on a trip.
“Waddaya say Stretch, should we let em go?”
“Gee, I dunno Stubbs. Let’s ask em. Nyahahahah.”
