IMO if it’s between someone using Brave and Gulag Chrome, it’s a net moral gain to use Brave, even considering the CEO’s bigoted beliefs and actions($3,100 of political donations).

Ameliorated Firefox/Librewolf is of course the most ethical web browser and also happens to be the only browser that easily meets my UI needs and I love the configuration scheme. :-)

I self host a searx instance for myself. Brave is one of the 6 engines I use. I think it’s great. Brave search has at times found results that my other 5 engines have failed to which have been useful. I only touch their browser with a 39.5ft pole though. I’m still salty about the affiliate link incident. Maybe I should let it go, it’s been years.
