My problem was not with Derrick?
The abuse of trust is the problem there, not the trust itself…
There’s no scenario where you’re not the a-hole if you’re going to parrot something someone else told you in private, elsewhere.
I’ve definitely got some bleak ass humor with some friends in private but forwarding messages people sent you in private to other people and group chats? Really?
Or just personal definition, i see you use spicy, but I just call everything that can give me the sniffles “hot”.
When I say something’s spicy I’m usually referring to literally a large amount/variation of spices, which aren’t necessarily hot at all.
I’m good with hot food, to the point I actually occasionally use nasty sauces like the infamous Da Bomb on things I legitimately eat, but I’ll never get people that say sriracha isn’t hot.
Maybe I buy a special one or something, or it varies wildly from person to person, but i like to put a good juicy squirt of sriracha on my cheese sandwiches and it definitely still clears my sinuses quite effectively.
As surprise to absolutely no-one. Me buying a Samsung panel with tizen on it one of my bigger regrettable purchases in my home theater life.
So lazyness is the real answer. ;) This is fair enough, to be sure, but logically I continue to have problems with it when looking solely at the wife factor.
My wife sets nothing up, that’s my area of expertise. My wife’s a user. This is true for Jellyfin but also things like our home automation that she very much enjoys but has no clue to how I made work on a technical level. She just taps things in the Home Assistant app as desired and things happen.
I would also argue setting up Jellyfin, though more a complex proposition as Plex, is a lot easier then setting up things like an *arr strack or ripping the media you eventually play back with it.
Plex does very little in a vacuum so despite it being easier to set up, it would be equally unlikely she ever would.
So far I’ve had no problems using jellyfin on basicly anything that exists in my house which includes a Apple TV, Xbox SX and a Xiaomi TV Box S.
But I can see there’s probably no Tizen app for things like Samsung TV’s.
Setting jellyfin up is for the technically inclined, i’ll agree there, but once deployed I don’t really see where Plex fundamentally excels over Jellyfin when it comes to “the wife factor”?
You open the app, app shows library, you click on desired media item, desired media item plays. What am i missing?
Likely something to do with English being a secondary language to the vast majority of the world…
I love how in a world where we banned straws we are somehow OK with Microsoft pushing people to recycle their old but otherwise adequate system for what, to the vast majority of people, are some paper thin security advantages.
Anybody who asks me about Windows 10’s EOL date will be introduced to the option of using Linux before i’ll help them select a replacement system. Especially if they literally only use a browser there really is no reason to go through hoops or spend money to stick with Windows.
Money probably really doesn’t make you happy. Most of the things that make me happy have nothing to do with me being able to buy crap I don’t need.
But that dumb sentiment hides the fact that a lack of money can definitely make you miserable.
Only the people that never had stress over dentist of vet bills will suggest money is somehow not a massive factor in determining your quality of life in a capitalist society.
I pump the brakes with the swearing if I’m around kids, complete strangers, or people I know really take offense to it, i’m honestly not trying to be rude on purpose.
But other than that, no. I swear a lot and have no intention to lessen that. It’s an excellent coping mechanism for stress and it doesn’t hurt anybody or, in fact, anything.
Replacing it with things like “what the cluck” would only add to the anger I feel in the moment because I think that’s horribly cringe.
Yeah. People in a manual definately don’t ever do that.
It doesn’t free up time no but it does make driving ever so slightly less involved.
Controls on a drill have a clear practical purpose, and to my knowledge they don’t make them that do that automatically in a reasonable price range. I would totally buy that if they did. ;-)
You’ll never catch me doing something that can be automated away, this includes shifting gears in a car.
But a car is just a tool to me, like a cordless drill, so i’m sure I “just don’t get it”.
Explain to me me how “someone told you in private” would ever apply to this derrick leaking a group chat. What is private about a group chat?
Obviously I’m talking about the guy that forwarded juicy messages someone sent to him personally to his buddies in this leaked group chat.
Maybe I could have explained better. Maybe you’re a bit too eager to find people to recreationally chastise.
