I’m as surprised as you
You control the hardware you are provisioned and the software you run on it, which is enough for me. Unless you’re looking for a job in the server adminstration/maintenance field the physical hardware access component of it matters less IMO
Selfhosting is the act of hosting applications on “hardware you control”. That could be rented or owned, its the same to us. You could go out and buy a server to host your applications but there a few issues that you might run into that could prevent you from simply standing up a server rack in your spare room. From shitty ISPs to lack of hardware knowledge there are plenty of reasons to just rent a VPS. Either way youre one of us :)
All starfield, all the time. Been extremely enjoyable, can’t wait to do a modded new game plus.
Activision claims that over one million Call of Duty accounts have had their voice and/or text chat privileges restricted since the release of Modern Warfare 2 in October.

This is so huge
Prime day went from a day I couldn’t wait for to one Im mad if I see ads for it.
I’m no exercise scientist so I can’t explicitly recommend this to you personally but this is what I use. Basically caffeine with some other chemicals that help you have a productive workout. It’s not something you use every time you go to the gym but it helps you push that little bit extra when under load.
Pre workout meals are equally important and I recommend watching some of Jeff Nippards YouTube videos to learn more about what makes a good pre workout meal. Eating in general is important surrounding the gym but again I’m no expert so I’ll leave it to them to speak on the specifics.
Do your own research before making a purchase
I really enjoy it when I have something I’m aiming for. The accomplishment of hitting a new PR (1 rep max of otherwise) gives me a major dopamine hit. It’s going to be different for everyone though, I dispise cardio even though I do it for example. I usually have to trick myself to enjoy it like turning on a TV show or podcast or audiobook I’m really interested in. Recently the Pre-work out Ive been using has had a major positive impact in my mood as well. Not just because of the addition energy but I almost feel euphoric during my whole session.
Honestly I just typed Lemmy into Namecheap and saw what TLDs were available
What sort of backend setup are you running?
Sounds like we have similar setups, and knowing that I’d highly recommend investing in automating as much of your current setup as possible so you can quickly get things back up and running with little to no interaction. Backing up configurations and library metadata might prove to be pretty useful in resurrecting a dead server.
Also rclone is going to be your best friend if you don’t already have that setup
Shucking is the way
Intel NUCs are a great mini PC option (while a little expensive)
Which nextcloud image do you use? I’ve been having issues with the linuxserver being kinda buggy at times (not loading file previews or not being able to close a preview without editing the URL) the app has performed pretty well but the web ui hasnt been great
Do they sit him down and ask him some hard questions because I think that’s the only Musk content I can tolerate anymore
