Oh wow, the title of this video is really doing it a disservice. The title leads me to believe it’s about how to spot autistic people who are trying to blend in. It’s about masking. I agree with pretty much everything he says.

I hate this. I haven’t watched the video but the idea that someone will watch me to try and come to the same conclusion as a team of psychology graduates and doctorates is asinine. “But how are we supposed to give them allowances like being patient or kind?” Do that for everybody, don’t try to diagnose someone that isn’t open enough to tell you. I’m not a woman, but I am diagnosed and the premise of this video just makes me say no.

The problem with federation is there’s always that person who believes an article should be posted in 50 communities and then there’s no escaping it. I’m tired of seeing this article as I scroll.

Pay your damn employees

My most recent complaint is about index mappings. I have 2 types in 2 different indexes that each have a field with the same name. One index has a hand written mapping. The other index is currently under active development and doesn’t have a mapping for it yet so it’s built automatically. When I insert into the index WITHOUT a mapping, the index WITH a mapping changes the field into a keyword and no further queries against the index WITH a mapping work. This also happens if I insert into the index WITHOUT a mapping before the other index is created. Why does the index WITH a mapping change?!? WE WROTE THE MAPPING FOR A REASON BUT ITS IGNORED!?!
