It’ll take a while before AI can fix your toilet, paint a wall or build a shed. Being replaced with AI isn’t something I need to worry about.
Independent thinker valuing discussions grounded in reason, not emotions.
I say unpopular things but never something I know to be untrue. Always open to hear good-faith counter arguments. My goal is to engage in dialogue that seeks truth rather than scoring points.

Agreed. Not much to relate with all the discussion about office work.
Mods on some communities are completely out of their minds. I got banned from !ukraine@sopuli.xyz simply for voicing my skepticism about how feasible it is to win back all the occupied territories and wether it would even be worth all the deaths it would require. And not only that but they delete the comment from modlog too.
My aunt talked her mom out of kitchen remodel because it’s going to cost so much (that she’ll get smaller ineritance then) while my grandmom, who already spends most of her time alone at home then can’t even spend her savings to make her surroundings a bit nicer.
I don’t see that. To me it reads as guilt tripping the parents for wanting to spend the money they themselves earned.
My criticism isn’t aimed at parents who want to leave an inheritance to their kids. It’s directed at those kids who expect it from their parents, as if they’re somehow entitled to it.
Inheritance from who? Your poor parents?
What on earth are you talking about? Generational wealth is not a binary thing. There are people rich enough to pass their fortune to their kids and then there are ones who can’t. That’s how it has always been and that’s how it’s always going to be.
What’s infuriating about this? Why the heck should I inherit something I haven’t worked for? I’ve always told my parents and grandparents that dying with an empty bank balance is the ideal way to go. Hell, preferably be in debt.
Maybe if we just go around shooting everyone whose better off that ourselves then one day we’ll all be equally poor and miserable.
Ebay and Aliexpress seem to work just fine. I’ve only once ever ordered something from Amazon.
It’s physically impossible for an LLM to hold prejudice.
I know you’re joking but a toilet that analyzes your stool would be quite remarkable health monitoring device to go along with our smartwatches and stuff. I bet there’s loads of health markers you could see from it.
I agree. I also love how polite and patient it is and how it tends to have quite neutral and reasonable opinions. The excact opposite of average social media user.
Have you considered that it might just be trendy to dunk on Tesla? These issues are in no way unique to their vehicles, and the over-representation in the news skews our perception of how dangerous they actually are.
There are 40k traffic fatalities in the U.S. alone every year. That’s 110 per day. Nobody gives a shit when Kia Ceed plows into pedestrians but when it’s a Tesla it’s instant clicks.
Interesting that people find this surprising when it’s not surprising to me at all. This is the kind of people young men go to when they get chased away from more mainstream platforms.
To claim they’re not trying to combat the problem is a lie. I used to get several bot followers a day around a year ago. Now I got none and I’ve lost a ton of subscribers because the bot accounts are getting deleted. The amount of bots was also the reason Elon wanted to turn down the deal to begin with because twitter lied about it.
Also, misinformation can be combated with community notes. An open source feature I’m not aware of any other social media platform having.
Name a social media platform without bots pretending to be real people.
So you want to ban the platforms you dont like/use but leave the ones you do?
LLM is not synonymous with AI. We have no clue what this technology will be capable of in few years.
