      Americans love their 80 year old politicians. The upper levels of government are basically a retirement home, it’s wild.

        Imagine not wanting to retire when you clearly have a shit tonne of money and could live a very comfortable and happy retirement. He probably could have retired like 40 years ago too. I don’t get it.

            Yeah that is the only explanation but it’s just an obsession at that point… Keeping power to the literal death sounds like mental illness to me.

              It’s a very human trait, unfortunately. That’s why democratic control over any sort of power is the only way to improve society.

            This is the only logical explanation. Which makes them exactly the kind of people you don’t want to have in power.
