Blizzard has told Diablo 4 players who have reached all their goals that it's fine to take a break from the game ahead of the launch of Season 1, dubbed Season of the Malignant, on July 20.
It’s in response to their previous development mantra of essentially tying you to your chair and force you to play 28/7 just to stay up to date. This was mostly cause for the mass-burnout of wow players during the last 3 expansions, that featured progression paths with essenrially infinite grind.
I feel like it’s a refreshing stance to see from a game developer honestly. So much of gaming in general over the last decade evolved into trying to keep the player tied down to that single game especially so for anything live service.
