There are a couple of users posting stuff that I’d rather not see on social media, but instead of just blocking them, as I see value in their comments, I’d love to find a way to hide their posts.
As a workaround I’ve been blocking the communities they post to (since they offer me 0 value) instead, but they also seem to be adding more and more of very similar looking communities, so It’s a cat and mouse game.
Yes, I browse “Everything”, typically sorted by Active/Hot. I prefer this to subscriptions because it allows me to find new stuff daily.
Make it easy for yourself and just block the user. Did the same thing and I’m totally fine.
I’m leaning towards that, but doesn’t hurt to ask. I might suggest this as a feature to the Sync developer, I can already filter posts and comments by keywords and it helps a ton with certain type of content. Wouldn’t be a stretch to get just a post title/community name filter.
If you’re using Sync there’s an option called “filter user”. Post dot menu / filter / user.
Does that in fact only affect posts, but not comments? Exactly what I needed!
That might affect both, not sure…
This community isn’t made for support, you may find better answers at !lemmy_support@lemmy.ml
Not natively, as it’s an extremely niche concern. If you’re on a normal browser, you can get uBlock origin and make a custom rule.
