BBC News - Wagner boss Prigozhin is in Russia, Belarus ruler Lukashenko says https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-66118007
What’s the source here? Why is this just a screenshot?
There’s an article up on BBC now. Looks like the only source they have saying this is the leader of Belarus. Sounds fishy.
Crisis actor
It’s a BBC alert, article is on their main page
Since Lemmy is a link aggregator, maybe aggregate us a link there, bud.
Done
The question should really be how many feet underneath russia is he?
He should not get near any building with windows.
Can we leave the low-effort jokes on reddit please
Can we not make everything about Reddit please? It’s a website, not your ex. Move on.
…in a tank, or in a prison cell? Or in a café drinking polonium tea?
He is near an open window
Exciting times!
Will this be the first time Lukasjenko tells the truth?
No one knows… Only time will tell.
Footnote: why do we still publish and read news based on what dictators or influencers have to say? Humanity is doomed 🙂
Lukasjenko definitely feels he has something to gain by relaying this information publically. If no one can prove him wrong it doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. You would think with his ties to Putin he wouldn’t need to make a public statement like this. The goal was definitely to have certain people hear this news.
The question is, is he trying to expose Prigozhin and get him arrested/killed, or is this a show of force towards Putin to gain a bit more independence, is it a message to his own population or supposed to throw off the West?
Maybe it was all a ploy to see which generals were disloyal to Putin.
His body has already been cremated.
