The premium version of Dwarf Fortress is approaching an impressive milestone of 1 million copies sold. And the Adams brothers have no plans to stop developing their life’s project.
Kruggsmash has been one of my favorites for years now. I remember around 2010 getting into it because of those long threads on bay12 forums where people would pass around a save file.
The steam release was weirdly divisive in the community. I played countless hours on the original, messing around with Dwarf therapist and dfhacks (which I still use) and I love the surge of attention and funding that the steam release gave the game. I feel the game is in a better state than it has ever been. And I love that so many more people have gotten into it.
