The fact that we can pull off 4096 QAM is amazing to me. I wonder just how much error correction is going on to get that reliable over the air.

I’m not the only one late to the party then. I’m finally getting a WiFi 6 router from my ISP in a couple of weeks.

Wifi 6 took forever to get rolled out, especially 6e. Hopefully 7’s rollout is much better.

I skipped 6 and got a really expensive wifi 7 router and at 6e speeds it’s pretty insane. I get just over a gigabit connection goin outside of my network. Windows reports a connection speed of over 2gbit on wifi.

I did not want to wait for my ISP the are still on wifi 5 and the thing needs a reboot all the time so i bought a eero 6 wifi mesh router just one as i am in a apt then my 2 echo pops found out the act at repeaters for eero wifi so it worked out. Wifi 6 is game changer for sure super reliable devices that had a wired connection through Moca i now only use Wifi 6 on as no need for wired as it works just as good 500 down in my entire apt and that is what i pay for so sounds good to me.

This article is excellent. Very clear and concise. It distills the extreme technicals of radio into something even I can understand, and gives the impacts of each of these features. 10/10
