There was another post that got deleted which made me interested in “The Breakfast Club”. Maybe we can continue the discussion here?

People said Allison is a cool character and that people like Allison turned out to be good people in their experience. What do you think about that?

Others said, you must see this movie if you’re one of those “movie nerds” as it’s cinematographically competent. @southsamurai@sh.itjust.works wrote a whole essay on it (thanks btw).

What other movies tried to copy The Breakfast Club and failed? Or succeeded?

    I find it interesting that the stereotypes don’t resonate as well today. In the mid 2000s that movie still hit hard.

    I think that everyone should see a bit of every character in themselves. Either based on stereotype or what is revealed as the characters share with one another.

      I agree, and I think that was the “point” of the movie (its theme or thesis). Anthony Michael Hall’s voiceover in the very last scene, where he’s reading the essay he wrote in detention, says almost exactly this.
