If you live somewhere you can’t install it (because you don’t own the building) sure. If you do own the building (or have permission) then it works in pretty much any place you can dig deep enough

Popularity and technical viability have nothing to do with each other. It’s just that the former requires a lot of marketing to push the general public forward, way more than is necessary in my opinion.
