    in 2016, Russia, the successor state to the USSR, under the direction of its president, a former KGB agent, through a campaign of propaganda targeted at the American public, managed to install their agent into the presidency of the US, which did massive harm to the US economy, government institutions, and social cohesion and stability. to me that sounds like Cold War actors achieving Cold War goals through Cold War means

    if Putin doesn’t think the Cold War is over, then it’s not over

      I’m aware of Putin’s existence, history, and practices. I’m also aware that a lot in the world changed in the 25 years between 1991 and 2016. I’d be willing to hear an argument that Putin is trying to start Cold War 2, there’s some truth to that. But the first one? The consensus amongst most of the world is that it’s over and the US won. One man’s amition or opinion does not undo history, no matter what position he holds
