Reddit has been on the decline, I got shadowbanned and I have no idea why.

And there is no ticketing system or anything.

I was afraid to say anything remotely controversial. I was careful.

But sadly lemmy is not the same.

The UI makes it hard to .adjust, and lack of.algrothim makes it hard for me to find communities and when I find them it si just a handful of people and mostly inactive.

I hope lemmy gain more users

Reddit is more for bots than humans nowadays. They won’t do shit about the literal billions of spam/scam/propaganda bots on their platform (and why would they? The inflated numbers look great for investors), but they will ban a human at the drop of a hat. They’re going to realize eventually that bots don’t contribute to revenue.

And yeah, Lemmy is a lot less populated and a bit slower when it comes to feeds. Probably my biggest gripe is the lack of active and diverse/niche communities. My hope is that when reddit eventually kills old.reddit, we’ll get another influx of folks that might stick around.

However, it has done me a favor, I don’t check my phone as often as I used to, and my mental health is better for it I think.

Edit: if you’ve ever used third party apps for reddit, the Voyager app for Lemmy is very close to the UI that Apollo had. I find it pretty easy to use.
