So I’ve had shitty time recently with websites that were late to the party but finally started throttling parallel downloading.
Previously using a download manager like Jdownloader or IDM was the best way to get files when they were too big to survive being transferred with their hash intact. Nexusmods for instants has made sure that stuff will transfer so slow that it breaks.
Video sites are learning how realize when a download is qued and block the actual transfer itself somehow. Youtube breaks its files up into segments and scatters them so you have to stitch them back together.
What are your solutions for downloading now?
Maybe it’s my internet but the file in question is capped to 1.5 mb/s so there’s no helping that. IDM used to circumvent this by downloading multiple chunks at a time which reduced the amount of time during which bits could be lost during transfer.
Just for good measure I checked my hardware too. Stuff’s definitely being broken when moved at that rate
