My son had an incident the other day. He got introuble over something, and felt so embarrassed, before I even got a chance to talk to him about it, he took off on his bike… like took off took off. I had to get the police involved, my entire neighborhood was looking for him. 3.5 hours he was gone, they found him 9 miles from home, covered in mud, wet and cold, just before sunset. It has been hands down, the most terrified ive been as a parent since I birthed him.
He’s going back to a youth out patient group therapy program. He loves it there. During the intake yesterday, we got a lot of hope. They are going to retest him for ASD. He has been before, the result “shows symptoms but not enough for diagnosis”. But this center knows my son pretty well by now, and they are really recommending we test him again. Half my siblings have ASD, guess it’s obvious to a lot of people just talking to others about it.
So out of a scary thing, were getting some hope. My son is getting support. I am “the future looks bright” once more
